A highly entertaining and amusing session of playing ARBBL style Co-op…
I had a quick look through the rules when I got back last night and initially thought that we may had made life a little unnecessarily difficult for ourselves by not amending the board for 3 survivors; I’d set it up for 5, but with the reshuffle of people across games, completely forgot that the board is set up differently depending on the number of survivors. We should have had 2 less unsecured rooms with doors (the small room on Sven’s side of the corridor and the room that ended up being locked both times) to start with which means we’d have needed to secure all the remaining rooms to prevent the threat tracker going up each turn – that is until Mike got himself killed or Sven finished me off.
I’m not convinced it would have changed the outcome much, especially coupled with our dice rolling, the fire in two rooms (2nd game) and the cards drawn having all of those walkers streaming in (1st game); we would still have been pathetic, especially considering our version of co-op. Rep isn’t scored of carried forward in the 1st scenario, the only result you can get is win or lose, so chasing rep was probably a bit of a distraction this time around.
There were a couple of other points we need to correct that would only make our performance even more pitiful but happy to start a rules clarification thread if required. The main one is that we need to remember to subtract a blue die rep when you get bitten by the walkers (I'm sure I didn't do this when getting bitten but I might be wrong) in addition to all the other rep reductions we racked up…
I’m looking forward to playing again and hopefully, if others are up for it, the 12 linked scenarios in Survival Mode.
