Number of games in brackets.
With lots of people playing and nice quick games this seems a perfect candidate for a club league.
Rather than a set play schedule thing that never seems to work for us, I was reckoning an ELO rating system would be good candidate for setting up a ranking table.
Detailed and mathematically complex article here but the basic idea is everyone starts with a numerical rating and then for every game you play it goes up or down depending on your game result and the relative ratings of you and your opponent. So beating someone with a lower rating than you gets you a tiny score boost but beating someone higher than you gets you loads of points.
Found a handy online thingy here so I'll use its default settings of a starting rating of 2000 and a max gain/loss of 32.
Now I can remember all my games so far and their results so I'd be happy to plug in everything played so far, but can you guys remember your games so far? If so please post them below with (rough) date. If not I guess we'll just start from this week.
Only works with 2 player games. Games outside club time count.
And don't worry too much about tanking your rating by recording your learning games. It's a self correcting system. If your rating gets artificially low then it just means you'll get tons of points on your next win due to the high rating difference and spring right back up!
