The only thing I don’t have is the flier pack, but this will do for now.

Keeping up the momentum on the armada front, this is everything I own for the basileans

And from an ever so slightly different angle

Is your display cabinet going to be made from a fish tank?

Having once again ordered “a bargain” on eBay that I didn’t really need (less than half price), I opened the parcel and decided to do something a little different - just open the box, build and paint the models as fast as I can to get them on the tabletop instead of adding them to the cupboards of holding (probably never to be seen again…..

This is what I couldn’t resist….

And here is the start of the building phase:

My plan is to get everything painted fairly quickly and use them to play some test games to try to draw people into playing forefight as it looks like a good fun game, like Mantic always seem to provide.

Good stuff.

How are their hard plastic kits? I've not bought a mantic model since the space elves deadzone combined metal and restic kit *shudder*

Some more work done, all of the box stuck together apart from 10 of the standard infantry - I’ve put together one fighty unit and one shooty unit, which should be plenty to play with and I’ll then build the last one once I know what would be useful (shooty, fighty or commander

Yeah, Mantic stuff has been variable of quality to say the least….. fortunately the infantry and plane are hard plastic sprues and so go together well, the commander is fully resin and good to work with so it’s only the four other suits that are be dodgy pvc/restic stuff. Their poses are also pretty bad as the arms all stick out the side. As it’s not a very nice material, I don’t fancy cutting and repositioning so will just roll with it (I did swap the heads out for spares from the infantry, as their ones were very goofy looking)

Well, a funny thing happened on the way to the spraying station….. the veer-myn (space rat) army that I had lying in a box leapt into my mind and I decided that I might as well start painting them at the same time as the orks. So, will this unnecessary adding of a complication mean I lose focus even faster, or will it inspire me to get even more stuff done?!?!? I have absolutely no idea!

Onto the pictures….

These are all of the things I’ve sprayed. All of the orks and most of the rats.

The infantry in the foreground and the super suit things in the background

Now the tough bit as I actually have to get paintbrushes out…..
