Need to have a think about whether the Retiarius is worth keeping around or if I yeet him into the spiky pit and start again with a better selection.

Thracian was definitely my favourite of the types I tried yesterday.

Our questions, and the answers:

1. If a weapon is x with y (i.e. Scissor with Sica dagger) is disarmed, is it the whole weapon profile, or just one part?
1: if a gladiator has multiple weapons/equipment it’s one specific weapon that is lost. Usually randomize which.
Additional:
1: its the entire weapons profile. See page 8, primary and secondary weapons.
- I think the way I asked the question was unclear, so I've asked for clarification.

2. In a 1vs2 match, who chooses where the gladiator goes in the match?
2: if three players enter one gladiator, either randomly allot or or have players pick specific slots as they assign their gladiators.

3. Can a beast gain and use favor, and if so how do they use it?
3: yes and same as gladiators. Favor dice is a ludus asset not model specific.

4. If you gain a Fatigue with no wounds (say from both getting a crit), can you still roll to lose the fatigue?
No.
Follow-up: 4: rest action. Pg 4

5. If you get multiple Critical hits that wound, do you gain multiple favor?
Yes.

6a. In a 1v2, once a gladiator is killed when does the next one come in? Same turn or next turn?
6a: next time the defeated gladiator would have activated or rolled for initiative.
6b. Where is the one coming in placed?
6b: as beginning the match, basically reset the positions.
Option is to have the gladiator to enter from an opening in your arena for a more cinematic feel.

7. Did we mess up the money somehow? For example, i had 2 local fights (both wins) and 2 regional fights (a win and a loss) but only walked away with 12 gold? Even the gent that won both his regionals still only ended on 30g.
7: money is rarely plenty but it sounds low. I’ll get back to you on this.
Then:
Well the numbers looks right, sadly

Might as well add the others that Tom and I have asked:

#1 I add a Training Ground (for example) to my Basic Ludas. A few months later I have enough coin to purchase a Professional Ludas. Do I keep the upgrades or do i have to purchase them again?
1: you keep the upgrade(s).

#2 Can I have more than 1 of each Specialist?
2. It's not totally clear. It's meant as one of each, but can be houseruled you can have multiple (up to the max allowed).

Where do Death Pit matches fit into a multi-player campaign calendar?
Death pit matches fit into the off weeks between regular fight weeks, so usually week 1 and 3. So these will be fought in between local and regional matches. If I have understood your question right.

And can players bet their Ludus’ money on non Death Pit matches?
It’s not a part of the regular rule system as such. But this is where you and the group have the freedom to tweak the campaign to your liking
So if the group agrees it a neat addition to your campaign, go for it. I kinda like the idea
The author intended people to take the system and then add/subtract to make it fit the players campaigns/scenarios.

(1) Does fatigue affect your attack dice pool? Without it it seems fairly easy to ignore fatigue by just swinging normal attacks.
1) it does not, it only affects abilities using agility, strength and charisma. Which usually means the gladiator is less likely to gain the initiative, easier to push and trip, harder to stand up etc…

(2) In a charge into defensive stance, who gets to re-roll the attacker’s dice first?
2) attacker then defender.

(3) If you intimidate someone with no favour dice to steal do you still gain one?
3) nope

If you use a crit success for the dodge skill, are you forgoing just the damage from that one crit success hit, or all damage from the combat you might have done on other dice as well?
From the crit only.

Both my opponent and I roll a critical hit in melee. Can I still use Parry?
No they cancel themselves out. (And both take a fatigue.)

If you push someone back, is it limited to directly away? Or can you angle it in the rear 180 degrees from point of contact?
First question: rules aren’t specific. We always played it as directly back from the point of contact. For us it makes more sense.

And related, if I’m in base contact with someone and want to circle around them while keeping contact (say for a better push angle) is that doable with a move action?
No. You either need the parry skill. Or disengage and then attack from a different angle. 3rd option is if your opponent tried to disengage and you won.

If I score a Critical hit, I assume I can only use one "on a crit" skill - correct?
Correct.

If so, and I score 2 or more crits, can I use a 2nd (and more if I have them) skills?
The rules don’t restrict you to only one so yeah. On the rate occation your gladiator may show great form and wonders to the arena crowd

Just remember you must declare before saves are rolles.
- Whoops!

An (incomplete) list of available gladiator figures - be aware, some are potentially NSFW (depending on the prude level of your work).
