With wizards and crossbows it is indeed pretty much just that if you've got the space you might as well as it costs nothing. Once they start picking up some scrolls etc they'll quickly be dropped.

Unless Gary has changed since Saturday, he's Witch, not Summoner (as I said ;) ).

And Tom is correct, it's to put a 'soft' cost increase on shooting for the figures with free choice.

I've had a bow on both the spellcasters for 6-7 games, and I haven't used it once.

Again, Tom is correct. Mine also both have Staff and Hand Weapon, as there are times when I want to use the staff, sometimes the HW.
As I can't have any magic items for game 1, why not?
Though I've gone bow rather than Xbow just to keep the freedom of movement.

Same reason my SG Captain and XO both carry Picks and decks to start.

Still a witch, I've edited the list. (And I've got companion and zombie, seems we all think alike)

Just a general comment about last night, but it was so much fun to have everyone playing the same game, there was a different energy in the room. I've never played a campaign before, but I'm really looking forward to how this one unfolds

Yep, yep, yep.

No issue with people playing other games that I don't want to play (and visa-versa), but I do miss the old days when the majority of us all played the same game, whatever it was then - of course, it was a lot easier then as we hadn't really diverged away from GW at that point, so much more limited choice.

A suggestion, based on an observation about the post game.

Warband rating should also include level x 100.
I say 5his because two wizards could earn the same amount of XP in games, but if only 1 has found Grimoires (and therefore new spells) then they would end up at different levels after each game.

Should we ever do a club 'season' of FG again, I'd like to suggest we use the random monster placement rules from Stargrave, where you roll a dice and use the point to determine where they come on (so not always in the middle of an edge).
