Aaaaargh! (A post for me to vent my frustration)

I was spending a nice afternoon painting some miniatures when I noticed some bits of metal showing through in areas I'd painted. Ran my fingernail along it and everything lifted right off back to the bare metal. I realised I forgot to give the models a wash with soapy water before priming them, so the paint doesnt have anything to stick to.

Waste of an afternoon, hopefully it wont be too difficult to strip them completely back though.

In summary: aaaaaaargh!

What are the figures made of (old metal/new metal/combined metal with resin/plastic) and what undercoat are you using?

Not rude at all I couldn't get my head round the image uploader, think it's fixed now.

Metal miniature and I used a GW wraithbone spray can.

I've never seen that with metal, normally it's a resin problem. If you need to strip any models though just use dettol, but remember to wear gloves or you will strip your skin as well.

I've got most of it off just using a stiff brush, that's how easy it comes away. Will give it a going over with Dettol though to get the remainder, thanks for the tip

What I do is leave the models in dettol for a while then scrub with a cheap toothbrush and rinse off with hot soapy water. Make sure you use the dettol undiluted otherwise the paint becomes a gooey mess.

Was this a stripped model or painting on for first time? Also cannot see the undercoat so it may be that.

Brand new model. It had an undercoat, but I tested some other models that I primed at the same time and their undercoats flaked off very easily, I think the paint just didnt adhere to the metal
