Found the pre order button on Amazon and might have clicked it.

Gonna get mine either from Northstar or direct from Osprey.

I was going to get direct but it qualifies for free delivery on Amazon. So did Burrows and Badgers so I got that from Amazon too.

Now I just need to decide on models...

I’ll wait until we start playing it before I pick up the book this time.

The changes do sound good though so I’m quite optimistic about the new edition.

Apparently Northstar are bringing out a “specialist soldiers” box. That could be pretty cool.

Of all their boxes so far I’ve only bought the Barbarians, I liked them for the most part but something just seemed off proportionally with them.

The specialist box is mentioned in the blog above, basically similar to the 'soldiers' box but with heavier armour so you can build thinks like knights and man-at-arms.

I get what you mean on the proportions, I think it's because they're more 'natural' sized in things like hands and heads than say GW plastics, and they're closer to a true 28mm scale.
I still like them, but I'd probably not mix and match them from different ranges, unlike my earlier warband (although they supposedly work with the Fireforge range).

All that has to wait till I get my new glasses though - really can't see close up any more (yep, old enough to need varifocals :( ).

I'll probably make a sheet with all the 'extra' soldiers (and relevant rules) so that everyone has access if they so wish, other than those that are scenario/campaign specific (porter and werewolf on first glance).

EDIT: It seems the rulebook is up for pre order from Northstar (with a free wizard). In a slight deviation from the “I’m going to wait until we start playing again before I buy it” plan, I’m going to pre order mine this week so let me know if you want me to add anything to the order.

Northstar are doing a onetime only Frostgrave Warband consisting of a set of mixed plastic sprues to be released alongside the 2nd Edition rule book. It will not be available after the 20th August.

Seems pretty good to me, £20 and you’ll have everything you’ll ever need.

Is it worth doing a single order for everyone who wants the rulebook?
