Riding high on winning an 8 man event today in Bournemouth, I offer again if anyone is interested in learning Keyforge at any point. All the fun of silly Magic like card games but none of the stress of deckbuilding! I keep going to sealed events so have quite a number of decks now.

I'm enjoying it so much that I chose it over an Underworlds Grand Clash for my upcoming trip to UKGamesExpo Birmingham at the end of May.

Do you need the starter set, or can you get by with just decks if the other person has the starter?

The current starter is a pretty bum deal. 2 fixed learner decks that are no use beyond that, 2 proper random decks and some tokens. And the tokens aren't great (some of them a massively too big cards). You don't even get the full rulebook in the box! They kept it online only so it can be updated.

I make do absolutely fine for tokens with spare Underworlds ones. The new set coming some time this year has a new starter which is much cheaper and just has the two random decks plus some improved tokens so might get that.
