Looking through my notes I already have the character creation principles done so here they are;
Character Creation EDIT 16/06/21 starting Health increased to 2.
Obviously it’s hard to know without the context of how the rules work but you can probably take an educated guess and I can answer any questions. Essentially go with what you think is cool and you’ll be fine.
Choose a Race: Choose from the 10 races of Tamriel, each giving a minor bonus. They are very much similar to the video game but in summary they are:
Altmer - Regenerates Magicka quicker.
Argonian - Can regenerate health (health does not regenerate naturally for other races). Whilst this is a useful ability it requires actions to perform.
Bosmer - Resist Poison, Charm animal.
Breton - Resist magic.
Dumner - Resist fire.
Imperial - Once per game use to make a dice roll a success.
Khajiit - Night Eye, Claws (better unarmed attacks)
Nord - Resist Frost
Orsimer - Berserker Rage (once per battle get extra melee bonuses)
Redguard - Adrenaline Rush (once per battle restore all stamina. Stamina is used to move further and boost actions such as melee attacks).
Choose a Path from either Might, Shadow or Sorcery. Each gives a minor bonus to aspects of that path that you would expect (so Shadow gives bonuses to sneak attacks for example).
Attributes determine your proficiency at performing a given action. They are split into 5 and effect the following skills:
Strength - One Handed, Two Handed, Block
Agility - Archery, Lockpick, Pickpocket, Sneak
Endurance - Heavy Armour, Light Armour, Smithing
Intelligence - Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion
Wisdom - Alchemy, Enchanting, Restoration, Speech
All attributes start at 3 and you may choose one to increase to 4.
Skills - some actions can only be performed if you have the relevant skill. Perks may only be chosen if you know the associated skill. When creating your character you choose 5 skills from the list above.
Health, Magicka and Stamina - Magicka is used to cast spells, stamina can be used to boost certain actions (making them more accurate or more deadly) and health determines how much damage you take before you die. Magicka and Stamina regenerate at the beginning of the turn but only at a rate of 1 per turn.
When you create your character you start with the following profile:
Health 2
Stamina 0
Magicka 0
You then have 5 “points” to distribute amongst them as you see fit.
And that is it. Here is an example Mage character I have created:
Race: Altmer
Path: Sorcery
Attribute: Intelligence +1
Skills: Destruction, Alteration, Restoration, Enchanting, One Handed
Health 3
Stamina 1
Magicka 3
