Another quick bit of dangerous terrain. Sat around since Salute 2017.

Some... difficult terrain? And one may presume any line of sight crossing its base is blocked by its majestic spooky radiance.

I do like this one - what was the painting technique as it looks nice and subtle?

I’m trying to bang this stuff out quickly so its a simple case of splobbing the GW technical paint Nihilakh Oxide over a white spray and then white dry brushing to bring the face back up.

Nihilakh Oxide was a bit of a forerunner of these new contrast paints I think.

That and the nighhaunt one and the wraith something or other. I reckon contrast was discovered by accident when someone bodged up the mixing

First contrast play.

Surprising nobody, it's great for large fairly uniform areas like the base which is all one coat and done, and provides a good start point for more detailed bits but you'll still find yourself going back over touching it back up and bringing the details out.

That looks pretty good to me! How much effort/time spent for that result?

Pretty quick and easy.

Just done another base and being to able to do this all in a single coat per colour and nothing else is pretty great.

He’s looking pretty good too! My main concern was that they would be too runny and there would be lots of spill over into already painted areas but you seem to be keeping everything “between the lines” nicely.

It’s fairly good at staying where you put it. Though due to its nature its very unforgiving of getting a splodge in the wrong place as you can’t paint over errors with the contrast, it’ll just show through. I guess you need to buy the primer in normal paint pots for covering that.
