You shouldn't have any problems getting vanguard games in and leaving by 10 once we aren't all spending half the night looking rules up. I'm expecting to be able to fit a couple of game into a single night.

If you fancy it Ben we can play a 100 point game to keep it shorter and allow time to look up rules etc.. assuming you have the starter box by then.

I'll order them today, but they definitely won't be painted by tuesday and some may have shields held on with blu tac.

Does full-on Kings of War get any play? I've just noticed they put out vanguard warband lists for the uncharted empires races too, so i'm thinking of getting a skaven army i can use for kow, vanguard and warhammer/skirmish. I'll get the northern alliance for now as its the cheapest way to get going quickly.

EDIT:

Thankyou, that might be a quicker solution. I'll look at costings and have a think.

Yes kings of war does get played. I play against Gary every 6 weeks, and would be happy to have more opponents. Mike also has an army but (as far as I know) hasn't played in quite a while. Unfortunately for you, Gary's main army is Skaven, so that probably isn't the ideal faction to be picking up.

That's fair enough, i was balking at the price of GW stuff anyway. I like the look of the Trident Realm of Neritica so might pick them up instead, you can get the big army for £80ish which is an absolute steal compared to GW, and use some of them for vanguard.

Best join the Vanguard train.

Are people playing 100 or 200 at this point?

200 seemed like a lot of points for learning the game. I played around 140 when I played Sven the other week.

If I remember correctly, campaign lists are 400 and games are 200 working in the same way as deadzone
