The greed of the dwarves led them out into the world in ever expanding circles. This involved the pillaging of many a shrine and one of those contained a strong protective spell. The village it belonged to has suffered great misery since so the lead elder called out for help.
Four young pilgrim monks have answered the call.......

The monks caught up with the dwarves in a small town to the south. They were dragging the totem between them with a small honour guard. The monks attacked with their elemental charges and forced their way to the giant totem. First a unit of air elemental grabbed the statue and the spell of control was uttered in failure. Then a giant fire element tried unsuccessful. Finally the Great Earth Elemental put his arms around it and the words were uttered correctly. The statue shrunk to the size of coconut and was whisked away by the air monk.
