I know I shouldn't have watched the BOW walking dead camp. So I won't be doing Malifaux as I have just pre ordered this from dark sphere together with a bit of scenery. Sorry Sven.
Scenery so far. Warehouse, various road sections, skips, dumpsters, police barriers, truck, fridges, air con units, crates, pallets, wire fence, street lights, mailbox, suburban house and various scatter. Just awaiting the dino gas station.
Models so far. Project Z 10 female & 10 male survivors, 10 female & 10 male zombies loads of DZ zombies.
Might be able to do 2 games at a time at this rate.
Whilst the Wave 2 expansion 'Miles behind Us' has a set of campaign rules which look to work quite well, especially the development of characters with experience gained, but lack any decent story-line etc, I found these being developed by a fan for solo play. Good potential to maybe combine the two at some point? Have to say, I quite like the idea of the night event table especially as 2 of your own gang could end up scrapping each other as the pressure finally gets to them!
Wave 4 Kickstarter box 'Made to Suffer' (Woodbury Expansion) has arrived!
Now has rules for general All Out War:- games played with a minimum of 301pts and are not about resource-gathering, or even clearing out walkers, but instead hinge on bad blood, revenge and displays of power.
Given the points value for this, the playing area is now 20"x 40", supply counters are still placed but no walkers start the game in play. They now enter play as normal and whenever MAYHEM is caused. You also have to draw 2 event cards per turn rather than the normal 1. You can deploy up to 8" from your edge rather than up against it but probably most interesting there are now Objective cards which are drawn at random (each player gets 2) and these function a little like Schemes and Strategies in Malifaux, except there are 8 unique cards (with titles such as 'Make an Example', 'Take Out the Big Guy' and 'Take and Hold') so you won't get the same objectives as your opponent.
Later in the year, Wave 5 is due to be released with advanced rules for Map-based Campaigns. Couple this with the earlier rules on character progression, and I think we have the makings of a good campaign.
