I have World Eaters and have just started Space Wolves which is what I will be playing once I have enough done.

Jamie has kindly offered to lend me his Thousand Sons for some games so I will be on the traitor side

I will be doing Dark Angels for the foreseeable future.

All legions can be both Loyalist or Traitor and most have specific traits depending on which direction you take the legion in.

Sons of Horus can be played as loyalist and they revert back to calling themselves Luna Wolves for example.

How does that work with loyalists? I know the Dark Angels were 50/50 good/bad and the other Angels had their dark streak (though I thought that didn't happen until the death of sanguinius at the end on the barge). I can't imagine it happening for the Sons of Dorn or the smurfs!

With the two you mention it’s perhaps more that they weren’t as loyal as they possible could have been rather than going full blown traitor.

I’m not massively up on the fluff but elements of the Ultramarines tried to carve out a “new imperium” during the Heresy in anticipation of a Horus victory.

In the case of the Blood Angels it’s more about how in the midst of the Heresy many found themselves more susceptible to succumbing to the Red Thirst.

Just read up on the Death guard.
Pre assault on Terra they were norm traitors.
Got caught in the warp, turned in to plague marines and helped with the assault on Terra.
As you mentioned Dave i could use my current few models for Heresy.

With you taking Death Guard and Jamie thinking of Word Bearers it makes sense that I go loyalist making the sharing the box better.

It means starting all over again in my head!!!!!

Shame DG do not have a real themed loyalist enemy such as the Word Bearers/Ultramarines, Space Wolves/Thousand Sons combos to make it a more thematic project for us to do.
