Which factions are people interested in?

It looks like there are going to be 8 in total, of which we have currently seen 4. Orks and Undead are released 4th November. Remaining ones are Dwarfs, Skaven, Alt Stormcast, and Alt Khorne, which are coming later.

I see that as a good thing, otherwise there's the risk of having more players than factions and ending up with mirror matches.

Unlike X Wing, there is another game the models can be used in so there will likely be people buying them for that, and more of a second hand market for models with no cards.

I have now ordered my copy, along with the steel behemoth for kings of war which conveniently has the same release date. Don't worry Gary, I'll still be ordering direct from mantic next month because the berserker regiment is only available direct.

I was hoping for one of the elf races, will have to make do. Understand the need to push space marines and Khorne but as we all know I always seem to pick the least supported. (Sisters, Squats, Brettonian, Khemri etc)

I hadn't read anything. Just thought the game felt like a tournament type thing. I think the first competive type game by GW statement (ignore Bloodbowl) may have come from this.

Unconfirmed, but reported:

So boards only available (at least for now) in the base game - understandable.

Sounds like 'Unique' Generic cards in each faction set, so if you feel the need for all the cards (say you start to do it really competitively) then you'll need to buy all the factions.

Factions packs ~£17.50

I still expect to get the base game, and the Skaven when they arrive, but not sure I'll be spending big £££ on it, though I've said that about a lot of things!

If faction packs really are that price and therefore ~£14 each online, I'll probably just buy all of them as long as the game is as good as it seems. It will only be stupid money if they release massive amounts of faction packs and if that does happen it will probably be over an extended period.
