That does mean I will have to rethink my sleeving options - will have to get a load more of the current colours I use, rather than go different colours.

Have I understood the following correctly:

This is a new 2 player starter-box, although it does not supersede the previous box?
All currently released cards will be playable from both season?
I need those cards in order to play?
They will release a cards only box at some point? (Got this from your other thread)

Basically I just want to buy the box of wood Elves and still be able to play.

This does supersede the old box which is no longer being made. The warbands in the old box are getting single releases.

Every box (core and individual band) contains some faction specific cards and some universals and the universals have been unique to each box so far, but the new core is confirmed to have some reprints. Unknown if they are all from the old core.

Obviously the more universal cards you have the more options you have, but you in no way need all the cards to compete. A single band box might leave you a bit constrained as some of the core box universals are pretty core.

However they put up an official library of images every single card online so if you’re willing to print on paper and sleeve with an old Magic card then you have access to all cards ever anyway.

The only card only pack I know of is very specific Leader themed and you wouldn’t want more than a couple in your deck.
