2024 Campaign Arbitrator (Tom) Q&A

Possibly lots of new people joining the campaign next year so a single place to ask and answer questions might be useful.

I’ll kick things off with a couple of questions:

1. How much Rep does a founding gang start with? I’m sure it used to be 1 (and could never drop below 1?) but I can’t find the rule in the new rulebook.

2. Can a Chaos Cult Witch use the Outcast book Wyrd powers?

3. Does a Chaos Cult Witch start with a Wyrd power and a skill or is it one or the other?

1) New rulebook say 1 (and can’t go below 1) on page 92. It’s unclear if this is the same 1 rep you get from your starting settlement territory in a Dominion campaign…. I’m going to say it is.

2) Yes, all psykers get to use the Outcast powers (p52 book of Outcast). And should as they’re updated versions of a lot of the old powers, plus the discipline freebie!

3) Most people seem to be taking p52 of Book of Outcast to be a buff to all psykers in that it gives them all one free power on hiring. So you get one free power and one [skill or power]. I’m happy to go with that.

Note: In the new book continuous powers now last until the end rather than the start of your next activation, so it is now actually possible to give yourself a melee psychic buff and charge before it wears off.

1. Ah that’s what I was remembering, the settlement gives you one rep and you can never lose your settlement ergo you will always have at least one rep.

2&3. Thanks, those were the answers I was hoping for.

Are the lawful and outlaw rules going to be in effect?

The ones that are in the new core book, sure. They’re pretty simple. No testing and flipping sides. Just some differences in trading and cashing in captives.
