8th Edition

For 40K, and games set in the 40K universe

A couple of questions please:

1) Why does every unit have a power rating?

2) If I take a Leman Russ Tank Commander does that make my Leman Russ tanks Troop choices? (Was this the rule in the last edition or did I imagine this?).

Cheers,
Dave

Power levels are a rough and ready way of doing points without faffing about down to the individual wargear choices.

Taking a tank commander doesn't change what slot anything goes in, but if you want to do a tank army you just use the spearhead detachment

8th ed 40k

Postby Ladril Caledor » Mon Aug 07, 2017 9:23 pm

Hi guys, long time no see. Back in the UK and I've dusted down some old Imperial Guard as Games Workshop seem to have remembered how to make decent balanced wargame again.

Anyone wan't to give the new rules a go? I have 1500 points of painted Cadian Imperial Guard. I think the old 40k players moved on but I'm wondering if anyone has some models lying around who is intrigued to try the new rules. The game seems quite fast so should fit easily into a club night (unlike the previous edition).

Just read the previous thread and I'm optimistic, sounds like a few others got back into it this summer.

I am back playing, but I'm not sure when we could have a game. I'm all booked up with kings of war games for the for the remaining Tuesdays, and can't do Sundays at all. We could play on a Tuesday at some point if we can find a venue.

I can host, but I have no terrain or mat. Got a big enough table.

Hi guys,

I recently joined Arbbl. I was wondering if there are people who are playing 40K

Happy to play. Pop in for a chat at some point and we can figure something out?
