Relicblade skirmish game

Postby Tom » Mon Apr 27, 2020 9:29 pm

Caught my eye in a Facebook advert.

https://relicblade.com/

Small both in table size and mini count, quite a relatively in depth campaign system. Some nice minis but also looks fairly easy to use generics to replace, and the character cards from packs can be got as separate PDF downloads for a few dollars. Quite a nice campaign system.

Thinking specifically of Dave and his constant search for the ideal campaign, but if anyone wants a look I bought the base rulebook and have put it up on dropbox.

I’ve looked into this one before, cool little game, nice miniatures I think at the time the issue I had was lack of UK distribution of models and cards, a quick google seems to suggest that is still the case.

I’ve got Skyrim coming next month so I’m a hoping that will scratch my Fantasy genre itch.

Exit23.games have UK stock of a good chunk of the range and apparently have more stuff coming.

I keep coming back to this. Might get the campaign book PDF to see how much that fleshes out the campaign system.

I'm liking the look of it from a quick glance through the book, and that faction of weird fish things amuses me, so I guess put me down as interested

I haven't looked through it yet, but why this over something equally mini-agnostic as say Frostgrave, which we already play?

(Genuine question, as I'm always interested in skirmish games, especially ones where I don't need to use specific models - I'm keeping an eye out on Star Breach for a Sci-Fi option.)

Smaller games, more variety in units, maybe a bit more tactical (the d20s of Frostgrave always do make it feel a bit like missile tag to me), variety, and venting inability to play in reading about new systems!

Speaking of mini agnostic sci-fi, came across a recommendation for Zone Raiders the other day.

Making myself wait until I've finished my Malifaux, but definitely getting a couple of packs. Seems of a scale where I might even get Laura interested and she's shown an interest in the WiIlderkin faction box. Might get the Moldorf Expedition as my other pack.

Got the campaign book in the dropbox:

Potential for a live-in gaming buddy would make the investment worth it!
