I think its a combination of high mark ups (which is pretty much a given) and also underestimating how popular it would be. Once they'd started on the stretch goals they had to keep them coming. Also factoring in shipping costs which has had a bug increase in the US (much like us).

I saw someone say Mantic made a loss on the DBO kickstarter. I don't know if that's correct, but I can well believe it, and I wouldn't be surprised if FFP did to.

In other news, someone made some card sized "bank notes" for the game, so you can hold them rather than writing the gold on your sheet. Special offer meant free shipping to UK so had to get a set.

Wonder if I can find some balsa wood "coins"?

2 core boxes arrived yesterday. Have opened them up and everything looks good - miniatures are of board game level, rather than wargaming level, but I was expecting that, but man they're going to be fiddly to put together - many of the heroes have separate hats ffs!

On the downside I'm missing the rulebook and world book for the City of Ancients set. Rulebook isn't to important (it's the same as the copy in Swamps of Doom) but the world book is pretty important as it has the rules for the campaign and stuff. :( Email and PM sent to FFP, but given their lack of communication not sure how long it will take to get it sorted.

Won't bring it down to club now until after the New Year, as it's likely not to be a game we can play if I have to leave by 9.15. :(
Might need to set up a game some weekend though.
