Gaming mats

I'm now organised enough to purchase the gaming mats.

I'm guessing we want then to be the slightly more expensive mouse mat form?

What do we need?

First thoughts are
Two Frostgrave types, two 'other' Malifaux types, one X-wing deep space, one drop zone low orbit and one walking dead.

This is a major spend so I want to get it right. If you think you can get buy without any or you've seen one I missed then comment below.

Are there any futuristic type ones? Just for necromunda/fallout game/waste man and anything g else that may come up?

May be worth just having one

Depending on cost would it be better to get 4 fantasy 4x4 types s they can also be used for Mordheim (and other skirmish games)?
I don't mind "blanking" off some of the mat for FG - gives somewhere to put cards/dice/models etc.

Unless Matt starts showing up again, there probably isn't much point getting a low orbit mat for dropfleet. Pretty sure I am the only person who owns anything for the game. A 10-15mm urban mat we can use for dropzone would probably see a lot more use.

Out of interest, did you have a site for mats in mind?

Any mat can be used for walking dead. Doesn't have to be modern road.

Possibly 2x dedicated Malifaux, double sided would be good. See Dave.
One space, one ice and then as many general as we can afford.

My snow/tundra mat is at the club all the time. I could also leave my cloth one. Both are 6x4

Only just saw this.

I leave my mat at the club for the most part and anyone is free to use it. It is 3'x3', one side Malifaux markings the other is desert with no markings, so would be ok for old west, post apocalyptic type games.

With that said not sure we need another 2 Malifaux mats, one would probably do and if it's double sided the other side could be frost grave style.

Where are you getting them from?

Walking Dead seems like it would work on most mats rather then needing a specific one?

Agree with Dave that one more Malifaux is fine.

Mouse mat is nice, but is a definite cost just for a bit of luxury. Plus non-mouse mat ones are often double sided.
