This. We already see this in Blood Bowl with people who play the BB PC game and wonder why the rules are different if they play table top, and most of those rule changes are pretty minor (and least in older PC version). The Necromunda community has the same with the 3 rules sets doing the rounds (original [ORB], LRB [2nd editon] and CE [Community Edition]).
If (and I'm not convinced this will hapen yet) the posted thing happens, I expect for some of the games there will be a re-write, big or small
*, and then what are already niche groups within a niche hobby will be further split.
* Blood Bowl would probably be in line for a large re-write, as most of the current rules weren't written by GW staff.
