I haven't touched WFB for many many years, but for all my joking of it I find it quite sad, as let's be honest, it was the game that bought many, if not most, of us into the hobby (if not WFB then 40K). If not for WFB there would have been no Mordheim and no Blood Bowl. Hell, I think my first games against both you and Gary was WFB.
So it's understandable that this gets talked about - it's not a minor rethink like say 7th to 8th, it's basically nuking something that I once enjoyed.

For those who later in the year don't play KOW I will burn you as heretics of fantasy gaming and forever mark you as a spacemarine.

I'm not playing KoW, but I prefer being called a "Sigmarine", they're obviously better. ;)

That's Mr Spacemarine to you chum ;)

In all seriousness what's to stop people playing the old version if you don't get on with AoS? The two things I don't like the look of are the lack of points to balance things and the fact that a peasant hits another peasant on the se role that it takes to hit a super agile trained elf killing machine...how does that work?!

The problem with telling people to just keep playing the old version is where are the new players going to come from? Imagine trying to get someone into fantasy a year from now and the questions they would ask: Where can I get the rules? illegal download or eBay. Where can I get models? from gw but you will need to find square bases from somewhere because now everything comes with round ones. How much is this going to cost? loads. It just isn't going to happen.

Wtf?

I can't wait until people play the game some more, as far as I can tell they've just tried to create the most childish, ridiculous game ever. Good luck to them, but I can't see it really going anywhere

The rules like that are why I am never even going to try the game. How good your army is should not be related to how much you are prepared to embarrass yourself.

Totally agree, that's why I don't do pirate voices in Fluxx.

It will be who ever knows what the other is taking without letting on what they are taking.
Oppo takes 20 ogres then you take 1 hero on dragon and go for the instant kill selecting kill their general.
If you have skaven then take everything outnumbering your opponent by 20 to 1 specially if they have a small number elite models. Just surround your general and they can't instant kill.

Or play kow. ;)
