Star Wars - the novel

While doing a clear out I found my old, battered, well-read copy of the novel for Star Wars (released 1976, though mine's a 1983 reprint). I'd forgotten how sanitised the films had had to be compared to the book.

The trooper who had been unlucky enough to find her fell first, his head a mass of melted bone and metal.

I wonder what the film would be like if made now, and not specifically for the U market?
